Brethren,
Where do I begin……..?
What an amazing weekend! I am very proud to say that this weekend and the events that led up to the Gathering were an excellent example of the strong brotherhood and comradery we are so fortunate to have in our Lodge. Our fraternity once again showed when two or more are gathered success crowns our achievements.
We owe a deep level of gratitude to the committee members who worked on the planning of the Gathering. A special shot out to Kelly Fletcher for her innate leadership skills.
Our Worshipful Master played a crucial role in making this a success. Thank you, Brother Herman!!!!
On Saturday we had a meeting related to the format of upcoming Gatherings. The sentiment was that the structure in the future would be more casual. The idea is that this might be less of a financial burden on the hosting Lodge and the attending brothers. Also, John Clyburn is stepping down as the head of the Gathering Organization. Charles Scheu will be taking his place.
I would like to congratulate Evan Schmitt for getting his Third Degree on Saturday afternoon. This was a very special manner in which he was raised and I am sure he will never forget this day.
I would also like to point out that our elected and appointed officers performed a flawless Third Degree. Brother Evan was very fortunate to have Brother James T. Clancy DDGM-D as his guide. Brother Paul J. Mogianesi – J.W. conferred the Third Degree for Brother Evan. I must say, Paul, as usual, did an amazing job.
We were also blessed with attendance at the banquet of Sam Freeman DDGM-C and Lynn B. Baker, Jr. R.W.J.W. from the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.
The future looks very bright for our Lodge because of all of the hard work and dedication that we put forth. I am extremely proud to be the secretary of St. Alban Lodge No. 529. At our rehearsal meeting on Monday, I committed to another year as your secretary if this is acceptable to the brethren.
I have attached some pictures from the Gathering. There are also a lot of pictures posted on Facebook for your viewing.
We also have several petitions that are in various stages, so we might be busy the last 3 months of the year with degree work and extra meetings.
The next items I will be working on are:
Dues notices
Meeting Notice for October
A social event in NovemberSincerely,
Andrew B. Schure
