      Morning Brethren-

Just a few updates this week. We had an Extra Meeting yesterday and proudly raised Br. Niko Serevetas to the Degree of a Master Mason, Br. Eugene Dedov was Passed to the Degree of a Fellowcraft Mason and Jon Arrieta was welcomed and received his Entered Apprentice Mason Degree. Thanks to all who were able to attend. Our numbers were a little light, but we got the job done. We appreciated everyone’s flexibility as several Brethren took stations for the first time and did an admirable job. Br. Evan Martin surprised us all by delivering the Charge for the 3rd Degree then went on and guided the 1st and 2nd Degrees. How awesome it is to see our newer members jumping in and learning the work. Right now we are looking at 2 petitions for Plural Membership that require our approval as well as 3 Masonic Inquiries, 2 of which have already completed petitions and all men under 30. What an exciting time for our Lodge as we continue to GROW and THRIVE!

Details for our Garibaldi Lodge Trip to NYC on May 6th are coming together. We will communicate the details directly to the Brethren attending. We will also have guests joining us from Concordia, Williamson-Corinthian and Palestine-Roxborough Lodges. Should be a great day. The WM of Garibaldi Lodge has given us a reservation for good seats.

Lodge Polo Shirts have been ordered, but we can place additional orders moving forward. Like to try to get as many members in Polo Shirts when we do social or other events that don’t require formal dress.

The scholarship deadline is rapidly approaching. I have only received 3 applications thus far. Scholarship money comes from a designated fund completely separate from our Operating and Charity Monies so it’s there for the taking. The deadline is May 15th… less than a month away! We will present the Scholarships at our June Stated Meeting (6/8) and there will be a banquet prior for Brethren, Recipients and Guests.

Please keep our Chaplain, Br. David Hearst in your prayers this week. Our Br. was admitted to the hospital and undergoing testing. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Save the date- Our May Stated Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 11th.

Just a quick reminder to let me know if you plan on attending the International Gathering in Rhode Island (9/30-10/2). Love to see a great showing from St. Alban 529. Remember, we are hosting this Gathering in 2024.

If you are on Facebook, please request to join our Lodge FB page “St. Alban Lodge No. 529 Ancient York Rite F&AM”. To our newer members and prospects, if you haven’t registered for Grandview (Membership Portal), please do so. Just contact me when prompted for your Membership ID. Instructions for signing up are attached. This will allow you to change your personal demographics, view your historical data and pay future dues online.

Have a great week Brethren and stay safe..

      Frats- Jim
